How are they measured?

Dumpsters are measured in cubic yards. A cubic yard is equal to a dresser with dimensions of 3 feet tall, 2 feet wide and 4.5ft long. This means a 15 yard dumpster can hold 15 dressers of this size. A washing machine is typically 3/4 of a cubic yard to 1 cubic yard in size.

20 Yard Dumpster-

A 20 yard dumpster holds about 8-10 pickup truck loads. It is good for small to medium remodeling jobs and cleanups such as a garage. Lighter demolition materials will also go well in here. We allow up to 20 squares of roofing at a time in this. If comparing to trash bags helps you then this is comparable to 110-130 33 gallon trash bags. The dimensions of the outside of the 20 yard roll off are 8 feet wide, 15 feet long and 6 feet high.

Great thing about our dumpsters

One of the great things about our dumpsters is their size. Most 20 yard dumpsters are 22 feet in length, ours are 15 feet. Most of the shorter 20 yard dumpsters are 12 feet long so they are 7 feet tall, ours are only 6. Same thing with our 15 yard dumpsters. Most of those are 12 feet long so they are 6 feet or taller, ours are only 5 feet tall.

Comparison for size!

To give you something to compare these measurements to we found some of the averages dimensions of vehicles. For length a small suv is 14.4 feet, mid size care 14.8 feet, full size car 15.7 feet and a small pickup 16.3 feet. For width the average car width is 5 feet 9 inches, average suv and small truck width 6 feet 6 inches.

Dsiclaimer- Some areas that a dumpster may "fit" in we still may not be able to drop it due to other reasons such as low power lines or the road isn't wide enough for us to be able to make up to the driveway straight or numerous other reasons. We will check on Google Maps when you send us your information to see if it is possible for us to drop on. Even looking on Google Maps is not always 100%. On there it is tough to see certain grades and a driveway may be too steep.
